Lynne Blanks, the owner/operator and Director of Education at The Sewing Institute,
has an extensive sewing background. She began making doll clothing at the age of six, and further developed her skills during
summers spent with her grandmother. In high school elective classes, Lynne studied clothing construction, tailoring, and industrial
power sewing. Lynne holds degrees in Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration, a certificate, a Master of
Education, certificates in Fashion Marketing from Parson's, the New School of Design, along with several certificates
from Bernina of America University. She has also attended several training seminar update courses in computerized sewing machine

designing, writing specifications for garment construction, grading, and drafting patterns from concept to completion. In
addition to her experience in the garment industry, Lynne has 35+ years of experience teaching, training, and directing educational
programs. For several years, she was the Director of Education for Fabricland. In this position, Lynne instructed many students
in developmental sewing techniques and various forms of clothing instruction and she managed 14 specialty area instructors
